Christmas 2014

Momma,

Today was our second Christmas without you. It's crazy how it can feel like so long without you. We went to Deb's house for dinner last night and it was so yummy! Then Deb, JP and I went to the 11pm Christmas Eve Service. That is not a service we ever went to with you but for the last two years, that is when we go. 

Lindsay was super sick over with the stomach bug so we took our time getting up this morning. Deb and John came over around 10:30 and we opened presents. 
Presents on presents. Literally.

We all have a. I've time opening gifts. I got a new Northface and the Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay, among other things. 

In the afternoon we drove the 2 minutes to Deb and JP's house for Christmas dinner. We ate too much food and watched tv and napped. Christmas is so tiring. We definitely missed you. But we miss you everyday. 

Christmas isn't about Earthly presents. The best gift I have ever received the gift of Jesus Christ. For that gift saved my life. It saved yours too! Which is why I know you are in Heaven and I look forward to seeing you there! 

Do they have a big party in Heaven for Jesus' birthday? I can't wait to experience that someday. The year 2014 ends in a week and it is our first calendar year without you. You never wrote out the year 2014 on any piece of paper. As we move into 2015, we get closer to the end of our second year without you. I wish so much everyday that I could have you here! I can't though, so I'll just keep on waiting.

Hello World, It's me, Kelsey. I don't actually have a plan for this post but I should start by being honest...today's day is actually February 23, 2015. This post is time-stamped back in December but I haven't gotten around to writing it yet. The Hurt & The Healer

I borrowed that title from a MercyMe song. Everyone is talking about the healing that needs to take place in my heart. I have no idea what that even means. I'm not exactly sure how to identify a "broken heart". My heart is sad in ways I just can't describe. My heart is sad about little things and big things. My heart is sad because I miss my mommy. However, I don't think it's broken. You see, Jesus is in my heart and so I feel as though it can't be "broken". Without this Savior, I wouldn't have the assurance that I will see her again in heaven. I wouldn't have hope that someday my heart will be filled with more joy than sadness (like it was before). I am so thankful that I don't have to know that kind of broken heart. I am sad everyday. I wish that I didn't have to be sad and so that is what I am working toward. I'll never be able to forget about her so I can't really see how I will ever not be sad like I am right now.

Four Months

Dear Momma, Today marks the fourth month since you've left Earth for Heaven. What's it like? Are there seasons? We had one hot week of summer. Which just so happened to be the week I helped out with VBS at my church. The weather for the past 2 weeks has been cooler. I hate it. I want hot weather. When I write these I pretend that God prints them out and gives them to you. How sweet would that be? Maybe He does. I feel like so much has happened in the past month. It's hard to remember everything. The last day of STAP camp was July 26. STAP flew by, although, it was crazy at times and quite difficult. We also started to re-do the family room. The painter has been here all week painting. We picked out Bansai Tint for the walls. It is a light green color. I am going to post pictures of the room in a later post...maybe God also has a color printer! On July 14, I participated in The Color Run Philadelphia. This year was different than last year.
