Thirty Three Months

Mom,

I'm getting so awful at these monthly posts. Last month was mostly December so Christmas and New Years.

Not much happened during the middle of December. I think I got a head cold one weekend. 

I had 11 days off for Christmas Break which was awesome! I got so much cleaning done and I had time to hang out with friends and it was just a really good break! 

We had a decent Christmas. I went to my church's Christmas Eve service at 5 and then we went to Deb's house for Make Your Own Pizza Night. It was delicious! 
Apparently, I deleted the picture I was going to put in here. Deb and I went to the 11pm service at Aldersgate on Chridtmas Eve. I went right to bed after getting home. The next morning we opened presents at our house and then we went up to Deb's in the afternoon for dinner. It was nice. We for sure missed you though! 

For New Year's Eve, I drove out to Lancaster to meet up with one of my friends who I don't see very often. We just basically hung out but it was still cool! Then I went to Maria and Cody's house for New Year's Eve. We ate, played cornhole in the basement and hung out. I left at around 2am. So I was basically useless the next day. I woke up after 10 but didn't really function until well after 12. Then we all went to your friend's house for the New Year's Day party. When we got home, I was glad to have two more days off before going back to work. Those two days went fast though! 

Lindsay and I are preparing to go on our big trip next Friday, the 15th! Oh how I wish you could know about it! That's what I miss a lot: telling you about big things!

The Hurt & The Healer

I borrowed that title from a MercyMe song. Everyone is talking about the healing that needs to take place in my heart. I have no idea what that even means. I'm not exactly sure how to identify a "broken heart". My heart is sad in ways I just can't describe. My heart is sad about little things and big things. My heart is sad because I miss my mommy. However, I don't think it's broken. You see, Jesus is in my heart and so I feel as though it can't be "broken". Without this Savior, I wouldn't have the assurance that I will see her again in heaven. I wouldn't have hope that someday my heart will be filled with more joy than sadness (like it was before). I am so thankful that I don't have to know that kind of broken heart. I am sad everyday. I wish that I didn't have to be sad and so that is what I am working toward. I'll never be able to forget about her so I can't really see how I will ever not be sad like I am right now.

Four Months

Dear Momma, Today marks the fourth month since you've left Earth for Heaven. What's it like? Are there seasons? We had one hot week of summer. Which just so happened to be the week I helped out with VBS at my church. The weather for the past 2 weeks has been cooler. I hate it. I want hot weather. When I write these I pretend that God prints them out and gives them to you. How sweet would that be? Maybe He does. I feel like so much has happened in the past month. It's hard to remember everything. The last day of STAP camp was July 26. STAP flew by, although, it was crazy at times and quite difficult. We also started to re-do the family room. The painter has been here all week painting. We picked out Bansai Tint for the walls. It is a light green color. I am going to post pictures of the room in a later post...maybe God also has a color printer! On July 14, I participated in The Color Run Philadelphia. This year was different than last year.
